Role Description This is a remote volunteer role for a Python Developer supporting Outcome School’s learning programs and technical initiatives. The Python Developer will help design, build, and maintain backend services, tools, and example projects that learners can use to practice job-ready skills. Day-to-day responsibilities may include writing clean, testable Python code; developing APIs and web services; integrating with databases; and contributing to curriculum-related sample applications. The role also involves collaborating with educators and other developers, reviewing code, improving documentation, and ensuring that resources are accessible and clear for learners.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with fluency in Python.
Candidates should possess skills in Back-End Web Development, including working with APIs, frameworks, and server-side logic.
Candidates should possess skills in Software Development, including version control, testing, and debugging practices.
Candidates should possess skills in Databases, such as designing schemas and integrating relational or NoSQL databases with Python applications.
Experience with educational or mentoring environments, especially for underserved communities, is beneficial.
Ability to communicate clearly, collaborate in remote teams, and document code and technical concepts for diverse learners.
Familiarity with web frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask or FastAPI) and cloud-based development environments is a plus.
Relevant academic background or equivalent practical experience in computer science, software engineering, or related fields is preferred.
