Data Engineer

We are looking for a software development engineer II (SDE II) to join the Data and Reporting team. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and backend engineering, helping transform raw operational data into business-critical insights. You will work on scalable pipelines, reporting systems, and backend integrations supporting sales, revenue, billing, traffic, and user engagement analytics.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Apache Spark (Scala / PySpark).
Manage workflows and big data processing in Databricks.
Build curated data layers (Bronze / Silver / Gold architecture).
Integrate internal APIs and external data sources for ingestion and transformation.
Develop dashboards and reports using BigQuery and Looker.
Improve data quality, lineage, scalability, and performance.
Troubleshoot data discrepancies and ensure timely business reporting.
Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders across teams.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Backend-focused roles.
Strong programming skills in Scala, Python, or Java.
Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and Databricks.
Experience with BigQuery, Looker, or similar BI/reporting tools.
Knowledge of REST APIs and backend systems.
Experience with MySQL / PostgreSQL.
Experience building batch and near-real-time pipelines.
Exposure to GCP or other cloud platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good to Have:
Experience with Airflow or workflow orchestration tools.
Exposure to the Fashion or E-commerce domain.
