Role Description The Desktop Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop computers, operating systems, and essential software used by team members. The Desktop Engineer will provide technical support, diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure minimal downtime for users. Day-to-day tasks include responding to support tickets, performing system updates, managing user setups, maintaining security and compliance standards, and collaborating with other IT staff to improve infrastructure reliability and user experience.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of desktop computers and related hardware components, with the ability to configure and maintain user workstations.
Proficiency in technical support and troubleshooting, including diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Hands-on experience with operating systems (such as Windows, macOS, or Linux) and user account management.
Skills in software installation, updates, and basic application configuration for end users.
Relevant academic background in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft) are a plus.
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to document processes and solutions clearly.
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and support users with varying technical expertise.
Experience working in an educational technology or startup environment is an advantage.
