Role Description The Backend Engineer Intern role at PPStack is a full-time remote position focused on supporting the development and maintenance of backend services and APIs that power PPStack’s learning platforms and digital solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing server-side logic, integrating databases, optimizing application performance, and ensuring reliability and scalability of backend components. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers and product stakeholders, to translate requirements into robust technical solutions. Additional tasks may involve writing clean, testable code, debugging and resolving issues, participating in code reviews, and contributing to documentation and best practices for backend development.
Qualifications
Strong programming fundamentals with experience in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, or similar) and solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
Skills in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful API design, server-side frameworks, and database integration (SQL/NoSQL).
Basic experience in Front-End Development to understand integration points between client and server (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks are a plus).
Foundational knowledge of Software Development practices, including version control (Git), testing, debugging, and documentation.
Familiarity with cloud platforms or deployment environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker) is beneficial.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly in a remote, collaborative setting.
Good communication skills and openness to feedback, with an interest in EdTech, AI-driven solutions, and scalable platform development.
