Role Description The Sr Manufacturing Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Sanand, responsible for leading manufacturing engineering activities for electrical architectures and related components. This role oversees manufacturing processes, drives continuous improvement, and ensures production efficiency, safety, and quality standards are met. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and optimizing process flows, specifying and validating equipment and tooling, supporting machining operations, and resolving technical issues on the shop floor. The Sr Manufacturing Engineer collaborates closely with design engineering, industrial engineering, quality, and operations teams to implement best practices, support new product introductions, and reduce cost while maintaining reliability. The role also involves preparing documentation, training production personnel, and using data-driven methods to improve throughput, yield, and overall manufacturing performance.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Processes, with experience optimizing production lines and workflows.
Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles applied to product and process design, including tooling, fixtures, and equipment selection.
Industrial Engineering skills for layout design, time studies, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Hands-on experience with Machining operations, process parameters, and quality requirements for precision components.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience in high-volume or complex manufacturing environments, preferably in automotive, energy storage, or related industries.
Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools and manufacturing-related software; familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and to develop clear work instructions and process documentation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on-site.
Demonstrated focus on safety, quality, and productivity, and capacity to lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers.
