Role Description The Sr QA Engineer role is a contract, on-site position based in Pune City. In this role, the engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and executing test activities across web and software applications, ensuring high-quality deliveries. Day-to-day tasks include creating and reviewing test cases, performing manual and exploratory testing, logging and tracking defects, and collaborating with development and product teams to resolve issues. The Sr QA Engineer also contributes to continuous improvement of QA processes, enforces testing standards, and provides clear reporting on test results and product quality. The position involves close coordination with cross-functional teams to maintain reliable, stable, and performant solutions.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Software Testing and Quality Assurance, with experience defining and maintaining QA standards.
Hands-on experience with Manual Testing and Test Execution across different platforms and environments.
Ability to design, document, and optimize Test Cases that ensure coverage of functional, regression, and integration scenarios.
Experience collaborating with engineering, product, and design teams to identify defects, analyze root causes, and validate fixes.
Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools, and an understanding of agile or iterative development methodologies.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with attention to detail and a focus on consistent quality.
Prior experience in a senior or lead QA role, mentoring junior team members and contributing to process improvements.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
