Role Description The Cyber Security Engineer for Canada Opportunities role is a full-time, on-site position based in Canada. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls to protect information systems, applications, and network infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing vulnerability assessments, monitoring security events, responding to security incidents, and recommending remediation measures. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure configurations, conduct regular security audits, and maintain compliance with relevant security standards and best practices. The role also includes documenting security processes, preparing reports, and supporting continuous improvement of the organization’s overall cybersecurity posture.
Qualifications
Strong cybersecurity foundations, including Cybersecurity and Information Security principles, risk management, and security governance.
Expertise in Network Security, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, VPNs, and secure network architecture.
Experience in Application Security, such as secure coding practices, application security testing, and protection of web and mobile applications.
Proficiency in Vulnerability Assessment, including using scanning tools, analyzing findings, and prioritizing remediation activities.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CEH, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are an advantage.
Hands-on experience with SIEM tools, endpoint protection, and incident response procedures.
Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, and a commitment to ethical, non-discriminatory professional conduct.
