The company partners with governments, industries, utilities, financial institutions, and infrastructure developers to turn ambitious clean energy concepts into commercially viable and technically bankable projects. Its teams support the full project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and engineering design to project management, financial advisory, and procurement support. WEFS TECH also oversees commissioning and long-term asset optimization, providing applicants the opportunity to work on impactful, real-world climate solutions.
Role Description The Solar Engineer role at WEFS TECH is a contract position with a hybrid work arrangement based in the Pune District, allowing some work-from-home flexibility. The Solar Engineer will be responsible for designing solar PV systems, performing electrical and system integration calculations, and preparing engineering drawings and technical documentation. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site assessments, supporting feasibility studies, coordinating with project managers and multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. The role also involves reviewing vendor proposals, supporting procurement decisions, assisting during installation and commissioning phases, and contributing to performance analysis and optimization of solar assets.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of the Solar Industry and practical experience with Solar Power projects.
Hands-on experience with Solar Systems design, configuration, and performance assessment.
Proficiency in PV Design, including layout, string sizing, and yield estimation.
Competence in Electrical Design for solar plants, including single-line diagrams, cable sizing, and protection coordination.
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related engineering discipline.
Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations (IEC, IS, NEC or equivalent) and grid-interconnection requirements.
Experience with PV design and simulation tools (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD or similar) is highly beneficial.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in hybrid and cross-functional teams.
Prior experience in utility-scale or commercial solar projects, including feasibility, design, and commissioning, is an advantage.
