Role Description The Principal Software Engineer role at CBNITS is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru South. This role is responsible for leading the design and development of secure, scalable software platforms and AI-driven solutions for enterprise clients, particularly in regulated domains such as security, healthcare, and insurance. The Principal Software Engineer will architect systems, review and improve technical designs, guide implementation, and ensure high-quality, production-ready code. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring engineers, setting engineering best practices, and driving technical decisions for complex projects involving AI, microservices, and cloud-native architectures. The role also involves performance optimization, security enforcement, code reviews, and active participation in client discussions to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in software architecture and design, including distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native application development.
Hands-on experience with one or more modern programming languages (such as Java, Python, Go, or Node.js) and related frameworks.
Expertise in secure software development practices, including threat modeling, secure-by-design principles, and compliance-aware engineering.
Experience with AI/ML-based systems, data-intensive platforms, or integrating autonomous/agentic AI into enterprise workflows.
Solid knowledge of cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization, and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and modern DevOps practices to ensure reliable, repeatable deployments.
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, conduct code and design reviews, and establish technical standards.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating across product, data, and security teams.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
