Job Description: Full Stack Programmer/Analyst
Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and forward-thinking Full Stack Programmer/Analyst to join our Finance Technology team at a leading asset management company. The ideal candidate will have expertise across the software development lifecycle, with a strong focus on backend and frontend development, database operations, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing both legacy and modern systems, building robust data-driven applications, and leveraging AI to enhance business-as-usual (BAU) processes and workflows. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, strong communication abilities, and a focus on delivering scalable, efficient solutions tailored to the needs of the financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Design and SQL Development:
Design, develop, and optimize database schemas and complex SQL queries to support core financial applications.
Perform database management, ensuring data quality, security, and performance are upheld at all times.
Implement and maintain ETL pipelines to process large datasets effectively and efficiently.
Backend Development with Python:
Develop and maintain backend systems using Python, implementing robust, reusable, and scalable code.
Leverage Python frameworks and libraries (e.g., Flask, Django, Pandas, NumPy) for data analysis, processing, and application development.
Automate critical business workflows and processes by integrating Python-based tools with existing systems.
Frontend Development with Angular and Visualization Tools:
Build user-friendly, dynamic, and responsive web-based front-end applications using Angular.
Integrate data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI into applications to deliver actionable insights and analytics to stakeholders.
Ensure seamless communication between front-end and back-end services for optimal application performance and reliability.
Legacy Application Analysis and Optimization:
Refactor and modernize legacy systems, improving maintainability, performance, and reliability.
Assess aging applications and implement solutions to transition workflows to modern frameworks and infrastructure.
AI Integration Across Applications and Processes:
Leverage AI tools to enhance application functionality, automate workflows, and improve BAU processes.
Apply AI-driven solutions for tasks such as portfolio reconciliation, predictive analytics, and anomaly detection.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Collaborate with business analysts, finance professionals, and system architects to identify user needs and define technical requirements.
Work effectively within cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time and align development initiatives with organizational goals.
Communication Skills:
Translate technical concepts into non-technical language to communicate ideas and solutions to stakeholders across various departments.
Draft clear and concise documentation for applications, processes, and workflows to promote transparency and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications:
Strong proficiency in SQL for advanced querying, database design, and optimization.
Proven experience with Python programming, including expertise in libraries and tools like Flask, Django, Pandas, and NumPy.
Hands-on experience with Angular for front-end development, including the ability to work on highly interactive web interfaces.
Direct experience with visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI to communicate insights to business users effectively.
Ability to analyze, refactor, and modernize legacy systems while ensuring reliable performance.
AI Integration Skills: Experience applying AI tools/framework to automate processes and enhance applications.
Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly and efficiently.
5+ years of work experience in asset management companies or related financial fields is required.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Financial Technology or a related field.
