About Pixelotech
Pixelotech is a software development company that designs and builds high-performance websites, SaaS platforms and digital products — from UX through engineering and AI. We work as a small, senior team, ship frequently, and hold a high bar for what goes out the door.
About the Role
We're looking for a Hybrid QA Engineer to take ownership of quality across our products, with a primary focus on a B2B SaaS platform used by security and compliance teams. You'll start hands-on with test planning, exploratory testing and release regression, and progressively introduce automation for the flows that carry the most risk.
This role carries genuine ownership. You'll decide what gets tested and how, work directly with the engineers building the product, and have a real say in what ships.
What You'll Be Testing
Web applications — an admin dashboard used by customer teams, and a public-facing portal built mobile-first, where responsive behaviour and access rules both matter.
REST APIs — authentication, roles and permissions, and the data boundaries that keep each customer's information separate.
A Chrome extension — built on Manifest V3, working alongside third-party web platforms, with several distinct surfaces to verify.
AI-driven features — where output isn't identical on every run, so assessing quality takes judgement rather than a fixed assertion.
Third-party integrations — authentication, token expiry, sync behaviour and partial-failure handling.
What We're Looking For
Must have
Strong fundamentals in test planning and exploratory testing
Hands-on API testing with Postman — collections, environments, auth flows and negative cases
Excellent bug reporting in Jira: steps to reproduce, expected vs actual, logs, screenshots and accurate severity
Comfortable with browser developer tools — console errors, network calls, inspecting the DOM
Clear written and verbal communication, able to explain issues to engineers efficiently
Sound judgement about risk and priority when there isn't time to test everything
Good to have
Automation experience with Playwright, Cypress or Selenium
Scripting in TypeScript, JavaScript or Python
Experience testing SaaS or multi-tenant products
Familiarity with CI pipelines such as GitHub Actions
Understanding of OAuth flows, sessions, tokens and expiry handling
Exposure to browser extension testing
Mobile and responsive testing on real devices
Experience testing AI or LLM-driven features
Working knowledge of SQL
Automation experience is a plus, not a prerequisite
If you're a strong manual tester who hasn't yet worked on automation, we'd still like to hear from you. We hire for testing instinct and judgement first, and we'll give you the time, tooling and support to build automation skills in the role.
Why You'll Enjoy This Role
Real ownership. You'll shape how quality works here rather than execute someone else's test script.
Room to grow. A defined path from manual testing into automation, with time set aside for it.
A modern product surface. React and TypeScript front ends, Django REST APIs, a browser extension and AI-powered features.
Direct collaboration. A small team, with no layers between you and the engineers building the product.
Fully remote within India, with a team that works asynchronously and documents well.
