Job Purpose
To ensure timely, cost-effective and
quality-assured procurement of Raw Materials (RM) and Bought-Out Parts (BOP)
required for daily production of injection-molded plastic components supplied
to OEM customers, in line with production schedules, quality norms and cost
targets of the IPD Business Division.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Production Planning
Plan and execute daily/weekly procurement of Raw Materials (PP,
ABS, PC, PA, TPE/TPO, master-batches, etc.) and Bought-Out Parts (screws,
gaskets, foams, metal inserts, springs, felts, labels, packaging
consumables, etc.) as per the production plan and BOM requirements.
Coordinate closely with Production Planning & Control
(PPC), Stores and Quality teams to ensure zero line-stoppage on account of
material non-availability.
Release Purchase Orders (POs) against approved indents,
ensuring correct pricing, delivery schedule, payment terms and vendor
compliance.
Track and maintain optimum inventory levels of RM/BOP through
min-max/reorder-level monitoring and inventory ageing analysis.
Vendor & Supplier Management
Develop, evaluate and maintain an approved vendor base for
customer-specific and program-specific parts, in line with customer
PPAP/vendor approval requirements.
Negotiate pricing, freight and payment terms with suppliers to
achieve annual cost-reduction (VA/VE) targets without compromising quality
or delivery.
Monitor supplier performance on Quality, Cost, Delivery and
Service (QCDS) parameters; drive corrective action for non-conformances
(NCR/CAPA) in coordination with Quality Assurance.
Explore alternate/backup vendors and indigenization
opportunities for imported or single-source RM/BOP items to mitigate
supply-chain risk.
New Product Development Support
Support new part development and NPI by sourcing tooling,
samples and first-off components for trials and PPAP submissions.
Ensure procurement is aligned with customer-approved
sources/drawings, especially for auto and appliance OEM parts requiring
source approval.
Reporting & Coordination
Maintain procurement MIS — PO status, pending indents, price
trend analysis, vendor scorecards and cost-saving trackers — and submit
periodic reports to the Purchase Manager/Plant Head.
Coordinate with Accounts/Finance for timely vendor payments,
GRN reconciliation and resolution of invoice/rate discrepancies.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Maintain compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory
requirements.
Support internal and external audits.
Educational Qualification
Essential:
Graduate in any discipline (B.Com / B.Sc. / B.E.-B.Tech in
Mechanical, Plastics, Production or Polymer preferred)
Preferred:
MBA / PGDM in Materials Management or Supply Chain

3 – 5 years

Relevant Exposure: Procurement of RM & BOP for OEM-approved

Technical Competencies
Knowledge of plastic raw materials (polymers, master-batches,
additives) and injection-molded component sourcing
Vendor development, negotiation and contract management
Working knowledge of ERP/SAP (Purchase/Materials Management
module), MS Excel and MIS reporting
Understanding of PPAP, APQP and quality systems (IATF 16949 /
ISO 9001) as applicable to OEM-approved sourcing
