Role Description As a Backend Intern at CosmoQuick, you will support the development and maintenance of server-side features that power our job marketplace platform. On a day-to-day basis, you may assist in implementing APIs, optimizing database queries, and troubleshooting backend issues under the guidance of experienced engineers. You will collaborate with frontend and product team members to integrate new features, ensure data integrity, and improve performance and scalability. This is a remote internship role, allowing you to work from any location while participating in team meetings, code reviews, and technical discussions. The internship offers hands-on experience in building real-world backend systems and exposure to modern development workflows and tools.
Qualifications
Foundational knowledge of at least one backend programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, Go) and basic understanding of RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with databases and data storage concepts (e.g., SQL/NoSQL, schema design, query optimization).
Understanding of version control and collaborative development workflows (e.g., Git, pull requests, code reviews).
Basic awareness of web application architecture, security best practices, and performance considerations on the server side.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and comfort working in a remote, distributed team environment.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or relevant coursework in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Interest in HR tech, online marketplaces, or recruitment platforms and motivation to contribute to a product used by real employers and candidates.
