About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, people-focused Human Resources Generalist who can confidently support employees, managers, and business leaders across the full employee lifecycle.
This is a highly visible HR role for someone who enjoys balancing employee relations, HR operations, compliance, recruiting support, performance management, onboarding, and culture initiatives rather than working in only one narrow area of Human Resources.
You will serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers while helping create an organized, responsive, and high-performing remote workplace.
The position is fully remote and open to qualified candidates located in FL, TX, PA, CA, MD, MI, MS, and NC.
What You’ll Own
Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers across multiple departments.
Support the complete employee lifecycle from onboarding through development, retention, and offboarding.
Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, workplace concerns, and employee-relations matters.
Partner with managers to address performance, attendance, conduct, and workplace issues appropriately and consistently.
Conduct and support employee-relations investigations while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and accurate documentation.
Coordinate new-hire onboarding and create a welcoming, organized employee experience.
Support recruitment activities including job-posting coordination, candidate communication, interview scheduling, and pre-employment processes.
Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS information, documentation, and personnel changes.
Assist with benefits administration, employee questions, enrollment processes, and coordination with vendors.
Support performance-management cycles, employee development initiatives, and manager coaching.
Help administer leave programs and coordinate employee accommodations when required.
Support payroll-related employee changes and work closely with payroll and finance teams.
Monitor HR processes for compliance with applicable federal and state employment requirements.
Assist with policy development, handbook updates, and HR process improvements.
Prepare HR reports, employee metrics, dashboards, and workforce information for leadership.
Support engagement, retention, recognition, and company-culture initiatives.
Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve the employee experience.
Provide responsive HR support to employees working across a distributed remote environment.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an HR professional who combines strong judgment, empathy, organization, and business awareness.
Strong candidates will typically bring:
3+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a Generalist, HR Operations, Employee Relations, or HR Business Partner support capacity.
Hands-on experience supporting multiple areas of HR.
Knowledge of employee relations and workplace issue resolution.
Experience with onboarding, offboarding, performance management, HR documentation, and policy administration.
Working knowledge of federal and state employment practices.
Experience supporting employees across multiple locations or states is highly desirable.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and documentation.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information appropriately.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Ability to work independently while supporting a distributed organization.
Confidence communicating with employees at different organizational levels.
Experience That Will Help You Stand Out
Candidates with experience in several of the following areas will be especially valuable:
Multi-state HR operations
Employee relations
HR investigations
Performance management
Benefits administration
Leave administration
Recruiting coordination
HR compliance
Employee engagement
Compensation support
HR reporting and analytics
Policy and handbook administration
Learning and development coordination
Organizational change
Remote workforce support
Experience with HR systems such as Workday, ADP, BambooHR, UKG, Paycom, Paylocity, Rippling, or similar platforms is a plus.
The Kind of HR Professional We Want
You understand that HR is not simply about processing paperwork.
You know when an employee needs a clear answer, when a manager needs coaching, when an issue requires documentation, and when a situation needs to be escalated.
You are comfortable having difficult conversations while remaining respectful and objective.
You ask questions such as:
“Is this being handled consistently?”
“What is the employee experience here?”
“Does the manager have the right information to make this decision?”
“Are we solving the root problem or only addressing the symptom?”
“How can we make this HR process simpler and more effective?”
You combine a strong service mindset with the confidence to protect appropriate HR standards.
Why This Role Is Different
This position gives you the opportunity to work across a broad range of HR responsibilities rather than being limited to one functional area.
You will have the opportunity to:
Build trusted relationships with employees and managers.
Influence the employee experience across the organization.
Work directly with leadership on meaningful people-related matters.
Gain exposure to multi-state HR operations.
Strengthen employee-relations expertise.
Improve HR processes rather than simply maintain them.
Participate in HR projects with visible organizational impact.
Support a modern distributed workforce.
Expand your experience across compliance, operations, talent, engagement, and performance management.
For a high-performing HR professional, this role can provide a strong pathway toward Senior HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, Employee Relations, HR Manager, or People Operations leadership opportunities.
Remote Work Environment
This is a fully remote opportunity for qualified candidates residing in:
Florida | Texas | Pennsylvania | California | Maryland | Michigan | Mississippi | North Carolina
Successful remote employees will be comfortable:
Working independently and managing priorities effectively.
Supporting employees through email, video calls, phone, and HR platforms.
Building trusted relationships without relying on daily in-office interaction.
Handling confidential conversations in a professional remote setting.
Collaborating with managers and teams across different locations.
Maintaining strong responsiveness and communication in an asynchronous environment.
Preferred Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent professional HR experience may be considered.
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or similar HR certification is preferred but not required.

Benefits may include:
