What we're looking for
We're working with a fast-growing US-based fashion and apparel brand that sells direct to consumer and scales through paid social. They're looking for a Video Editor who lives and breathes performance creative, building direct response ads for Meta and TikTok that stop the scroll and drive conversions. This is a performance-first role, not a general content or aesthetic editing role.
What You'll Be Doing
Edit raw footage, including UGC and B-roll from the in-house content team, into direct response video ads.
Compile clips from multiple UGC creators into single, cohesive ad videos, and repurpose edits across Meta and TikTok.
Build scroll-stopping hooks and angles using text overlays, cold opens, and pattern interrupts.
Execute weekly creative briefs across shifting focus areas (fabrics, size inclusivity, educational content).
Produce multiple concept variations per brief, testing one variable at a time.
Iterate on your edits based on the performance data and benchmarks shared with you.
Requirements
Proven experience editing direct response video ads for Meta and TikTok, not just organic or brand content.
Strong command of DR editing techniques: pacing, open loops, text on screen, voiceover layering, and retention-calibrated transitions.
A working understanding of hooks and angles (you already think this way; it won't be taught from scratch).
Comfort with both long-form and short-form edits, at high and low production quality.
Motion graphics ability.
Background in fashion, apparel, accessories, or beauty, plus the ability to pick things up fast (training bandwidth is limited, especially heading into Black Friday).
Nice to Have
Basic static ad and graphic design work, such as pulling features and facts from e-commerce product images.
Familiarity with KPIs like hold rate, thumbstop rate, click-through rate, ROAS, and landing page views (you won't own the analysis, just work from the benchmarks provided).
A baseline understanding of copywriting and messaging, enough to talk through angles and hooks with the hiring manager.
