Product Design Intern

Role Description This is a remote internship role for a Product Design Intern. The intern will support the design and improvement of digital products that help rural businesses access and use e-commerce platforms effectively. Day-to-day tasks include assisting in user research, gathering insights from rural users, contributing to wireframes and visual design assets, and supporting the creation of user flows and low-fidelity prototypes. The intern will collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing teams to refine features, ensure accessibility, and maintain a user-centered design approach. The role also involves participating in design reviews, documenting findings, and iterating on designs based on feedback and usability tests.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Product Design and Design Thinking, with the ability to apply user-centered methodologies to real-world problems.
Experience or coursework in User Research and UX Research, including conducting interviews, surveys, or usability tests and synthesizing insights.
Skills in Visual Design, such as creating clean layouts, consistent iconography, and intuitive interfaces using common design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
Interest in designing for diverse user groups, especially rural or first-time digital users, with sensitivity to cultural and language differences.
Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or a related field.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Good communication skills, openness to feedback, and a willingness to learn and iterate quickly.
