Coordinator of Volunteers

Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Chennai Area. This role is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and coordinating volunteers for initiatives that support ETS programs and community-facing activities. Day-to-day tasks include organizing volunteer schedules, assigning responsibilities, and ensuring volunteers have the training and resources needed to succeed. The Coordinator of Volunteers will maintain regular communication with volunteers, address questions or concerns, and help foster an inclusive, supportive environment. The role also involves planning outreach activities, tracking volunteer participation, and collaborating with internal teams to align volunteer efforts with organizational goals.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Volunteer Management and Volunteer Training skills to effectively onboard, supervise, and support volunteer teams.
Candidates should possess excellent Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, convey information clearly, and resolve issues with volunteers and staff.
Candidates should possess Community Outreach experience to design and implement initiatives that attract and retain volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to organize schedules, manage multiple tasks, and maintain accurate records of volunteer activities.
Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, respect, and non-discriminatory practices in working with volunteers and community members.
Relevant experience in volunteer coordination, community programs, or event management is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Management, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field is beneficial.
