Role Description The Senior Product Manager will lead the development and continuous improvement of ASAUK’s digital and programmatic offerings, ensuring they meet the needs of members and stakeholders. This part-time, remote role involves defining product vision and strategy for key initiatives such as membership platforms, digital resources, events, and communication tools. Day-to-day tasks include prioritizing product backlogs, coordinating with academic committees and operational staff, gathering user feedback, and managing timelines and deliverables. The Senior Product Manager will analyze usage data and stakeholder input to refine features, improve user experience, and support sustainable growth. The role also includes preparing clear documentation, aligning projects with budget and governance requirements, and supporting strategic partnerships and collaborations.
Qualifications
Product management skills, including product strategy, roadmap development, requirements gathering, and stakeholder management.
Experience with digital platforms and tools, such as membership or content management systems, event management software, and basic data analytics.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time environment.
Background or strong interest in African Studies, area studies, social sciences, or related disciplines, and familiarity with academic or nonprofit settings.
Ability to translate complex academic and organizational needs into clear, user-focused features, processes, and documentation.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in product management, business, social sciences, or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage.
Experience managing cross-functional projects and balancing multiple priorities within constrained resources.
