About The Role
The Healthcare Administrator manages the operational workflows that support patient access, provider operations, billing coordination, and regulatory compliance across a technology-enabled healthcare environment. The role connects clinical, customer operations, finance, and engineering teams to keep data, documentation, and service delivery accurate and compliant.
This role matters because reliable healthcare operations depend on disciplined processes, clean records, and timely issue resolution. The administrator will work with EHR and practice-management systems, claims and eligibility workflows, HIPAA controls, and operational reporting to improve service quality while reducing compliance and revenue-cycle risk.
Key Responsibilities
Manage provider enrollment, credentialing, payer documentation, referrals, authorizations, and patient-access workflows using EHR and practice-management platforms
Maintain operational records, audit trails, and standard operating procedures for HIPAA, CMS, state-specific, and payer requirements
Coordinate with billing and revenue-cycle teams to resolve eligibility, claims, denials, payment-posting, and documentation issues
Monitor service-level metrics and build recurring reports in Excel, Google Sheets, or BI tools to identify backlog, error rates, and process bottlenecks
Configure and administer workflow queues, user permissions, templates, and operational data in healthcare software systems
Coordinate internal audits, corrective-action plans, and compliance documentation with legal, security, clinical, and operations stakeholders
Train distributed teams on healthcare workflows, privacy requirements, escalation procedures, and changes to systems or payer policies
What We Are Looking For
3-8 years of experience in healthcare administration, practice operations, revenue-cycle operations, patient access, or a related healthcare technology environment
Working knowledge of HIPAA, PHI handling, CMS requirements, payer processes, provider credentialing, and healthcare documentation standards
Hands-on experience with EHR, practice-management, claims, CRM, or healthcare operations platforms; familiarity with APIs, data exports, or system integrations is valuable
Strong analytical and process-improvement skills, with practical experience using Excel or Google Sheets for reconciliation, reporting, and trend analysis
Excellent organization and written communication skills, with the ability to manage confidential information and coordinate work across clinical and non-clinical teams
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, health information management, business, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may substitute
Bonus: Experience with HL7 or FHIR data, NCQA or URAC standards, SQL or BI tools, payer contracting, Lean/Six Sigma, or Certified Healthcare Administrative Professional credentials
