About The Role
The Business Development Representative is responsible for creating qualified pipeline for a cloud infrastructure and observability platform. The role identifies engineering and technology teams that need better visibility into application performance, logs, metrics, and distributed systems, then starts relevant conversations with technical and business stakeholders.
This is a high-volume, quota-carrying role with a clear path into account executive or technical sales positions. The BDR will combine account research, personalized messaging, and disciplined follow-up across email, phone, and LinkedIn to book qualified meetings for the sales team.
Key Responsibilities
Research target accounts, including their cloud architecture, engineering organization, technology stack, and business priorities
Execute high-volume outbound outreach through phone, email, and LinkedIn using sales engagement sequences
Qualify prospects based on technical needs, buying process, company fit, and potential use cases for observability and cloud infrastructure software
Book qualified discovery meetings for account executives and consistently achieve monthly activity, meeting, and pipeline targets
Use Salesforce or a comparable CRM to maintain accurate contact records, disposition activity, document conversations, and track next steps
Personalize messaging for engineering leaders, DevOps teams, platform engineers, and IT decision-makers using account and intent data
Partner with account executives and marketing to test messaging, provide market feedback, and improve conversion across target segments
What We Are Looking For
0-2 years of experience in sales development, business development, recruiting, customer success, or another customer-facing role
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences
Comfort with high-volume prospecting, phone-based outreach, performance metrics, and working toward monthly quotas
Working knowledge of CRM and sales engagement tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, or similar platforms
Organized and persistent approach to follow-up, pipeline management, and completing daily activity requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience; coursework or exposure to computer science, information systems, business, or engineering is helpful
Bonus: experience selling SaaS, cloud infrastructure, developer tools, cybersecurity, or IT solutions; familiarity with AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, APIs, logs, metrics, or distributed systems
