Sr. Fullstack Engineer

You are a hands-on Senior Software Engineer based in Kolkata. You own features end-to-end across our TypeScript/Nest/React admin and platform stack, backend integrations (billing, HRIS, ATS, and related systems), AI-in-platform work, and Python or scripted ops tooling when that is the fastest path. You are a strong mid-to-senior IC: we will consider excellent mid-level engineers who already ship production systems with light guidance.
Responsibilities:
Build and ship full-stack features on SnapScale admin / Praxia (TypeScript, NestJS, React/Next, Postgres, AWS).
Design and maintain backend APIs, background jobs, and data syncs with external systems (e. g., QuickBooks, SweldoMo, SparkHire, and similar).
Contribute to AI-in-platform features (LLM gateway usage, admin AI surfaces, safe handling of prompts and outputs).
Write and maintain Python or other ops/automation tooling when scripts are the right tool for the job.
Own quality for what you ship: tests where they matter, reviews, observability, and clear docs for operators.
Collaborate daily with Brian across US/India hours; communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
Follow security and privacy expectations for a HIPAA-aware healthcare BPO (least privilege, no shared secrets, careful handling of client and employee data).
Optional later: help mentor additional engineering hires in India as the team grows.
Requirements:
4 to 8 years of professional software engineering experience (strong mid through senior).
Production experience with TypeScript and Node.js ; NestJS (or equivalent structured Node framework) preferred.
Production experience with React; Next.js a plus.
Solid SQL / Postgres skills and comfort designing APIs and data models.
Cloud experience (AWS preferred) sufficient to deploy, debug, and operate services you build.
Proven end-to-end ownership of features in production, not only ticket-level UI or API slices.
Excellent spoken and written English; able to work overlapping hours with Brian (VP, Technology and Transformation).
Based in, or willing to work from, the Kolkata area on a hybrid schedule.
