Role Description The Associate Director is a full-time remote role responsible for supporting strategic leadership, program development, and operational management across Roarke Regenerative’s initiatives. This role will help oversee reforestation and habitat restoration projects, coordinate with partners and stakeholders, and ensure that program goals align with the organization’s mission and environmental standards. The Associate Director will contribute to planning and implementing new initiatives, monitoring project performance, and preparing reports and presentations for internal and external audiences. Day-to-day activities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, guiding staff and volunteers, managing budgets and timelines, and supporting fundraising and outreach efforts. The role also involves identifying opportunities for growth, strengthening partnerships with businesses and community groups, and fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and environmental stewardship.
Qualifications
Experience in environmental program management or nonprofit leadership, including oversight of multi-site or large-scale initiatives.
Strong skills in strategic planning, project coordination, and performance monitoring to support complex restoration and conservation efforts.
Knowledge of ecology, reforestation, habitat restoration, or related environmental science fields; ability to apply research and best practices to program design.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with corporate, community, and governmental stakeholders.
Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to present information to diverse audiences.
Experience with budgeting, resource allocation, and basic financial oversight in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
Comfort working in a remote environment, with strong organizational skills, time management, and proficiency in collaborative digital tools.
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and ethical environmental practices, with the ability to work respectfully with people from varied backgrounds.
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, conservation, public administration, nonprofit management, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience is beneficial.
Prior experience in fundraising, grant writing, or donor relations in the nonprofit sector is a plus
Base salary: $150,000–$165,000, commensurate with experience, plus a competitive annual performance bonus
