Fine Wine & Spirits Valuation Lead / Cellar Master

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Fine Wine & Spirits Valuation Lead / Cellar Master to oversee fine wine and spirits valuation, cellar operations, inventory management, quality assessment, sourcing, and portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the valuation, authentication, inventory management, and portfolio oversight of fine wines and premium spirits.
Conduct market analysis and establish fair market values, pricing benchmarks, and valuation methodologies for collectible wines and spirits.
Monitor market trends, auction results, trading activity, producer performance, and vintage developments to support valuation and investment decisions.
Manage cellar operations, including storage conditions, stock control, inventory accuracy, provenance records, and product traceability.
Evaluate quality, condition, vintage, provenance, packaging, and storage history of wines and spirits.
Develop and maintain inventory valuation, reporting, pricing, and portfolio management systems.
Support acquisition, sourcing, purchasing, sales, and portfolio optimisation activities.
Build relationships with producers, distributors, collectors, auction houses, merchants, and industry partners.
Identify opportunities across fine wine and spirits portfolios to improve value, liquidity, and commercial performance.
Establish standards and procedures for authentication, quality control, storage, handling, and cellar management.
Monitor inventory risks, market movements, valuation changes, and portfolio exposure, providing regular management reports.
Lead and mentor cellar, valuation, inventory, and wine/spirits operations teams.
Requirements & Qualifications
Diploma/Degree in Wine Management, Hospitality, Business, Finance, Food & Beverage, or a related field.
Proven experience in fine wine, premium spirits, cellar management, wine valuation, luxury goods, collectibles, or a related senior role.
Strong knowledge of fine wine and spirits markets, producers, regions, vintages, classifications, pricing, and market trends.
Strong understanding of valuation methodologies, provenance, authentication, inventory management, and portfolio analysis.
Relevant qualifications such as WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, Institute of Masters of Wine, or equivalent industry certifications are preferred.
Strong analytical, commercial, organisational, negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience working with collectors, auction houses, merchants, distributors, luxury clients, or high-value inventory is preferred.
Familiarity with inventory management systems, valuation databases, auction platforms, market analytics, and reporting tools.
Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage high-value wine and spirits collections.
Proven track record in managing cellar operations, portfolio valuation, sourcing, inventory performance, or commercial growth.
