Role Description The Software Engineering Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Canada. This position is responsible for leading a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining technology solutions that support Esse India’s immigration and visa consulting services. Day-to-day activities include planning and prioritizing engineering work, reviewing software designs and code, coordinating with product and operations teams, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, scalable systems. The manager will oversee distributed system architectures, set technical standards, mentor team members, and implement best practices in software development and project management. The role also involves monitoring system performance, resolving technical issues, and contributing to long-term technology strategy and roadmap.

Candidates should possess solid Project Management skills to plan, prioritize, and deliver engineering initiatives on schedule.
Candidates should possess experience working with Distributed Systems, including design, deployment, and troubleshooting in production environments.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (such as Java, Python, C#, or similar) and familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience integrating software solutions with business processes, preferably in consulting, services, or professional advisory domains.
Strong communication skills, ability to work cross-functionally, and commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory team practices.
