The QA Engineer contract role is a remote position focused on ensuring the quality and stability of Counterspell’s games and interactive experiences. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing test cases, performing manual and exploratory testing, and documenting defects with clear, reproducible steps. The QA Engineer will collaborate closely with developers, designers, and producers to verify fixes, track regressions, and help refine features before release. This role also involves contributing to test plans, maintaining test documentation, and providing feedback on overall usability and player experience.
Qualifications
Software testing skills, including Manual Testing and Test Execution, with the ability to systematically verify features and identify defects.
Experience creating, organizing, and maintaining Test Cases as part of broader Quality Assurance efforts.
Strong understanding of Quality Assurance principles and practices in the context of games or interactive applications.
Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Linear, or similar) and clear defect reporting.
Attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to reproduce and isolate issues reliably.
Comfort working in a remote, collaborative environment and communicating clearly with multidisciplinary teams.
Interest or experience in game development, game design, or interactive media; prior QA experience in games is a plus.
Basic understanding of platforms and devices commonly used for gaming (PC, console, mobile, AR) is beneficial.
