AI Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!
The Role
• Set the technical direction and AI/ML architecture for sales, engineering, and manufacturing systems.
• Develop production code and own the architecture for AI solutions, identifying genuine AI problems versus data quality issues.
• Build applications for specification and document intelligence, extracting structured requirements from various document types.
• Create configuration and quoting assistance tools, including guided selling and pricing guidance.
• Implement engineering automation for tasks like similar-order retrieval and BOM anomaly detection.
• Develop manufacturing intelligence solutions for labor hour prediction, schedule risk forecasting, and quality defect prediction.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 5+ years in software or data engineering with 5+ years building production AI/ML systems.
• Demonstrated ownership of a production AI/ML system, including post-launch issue resolution.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern applied AI/ML stacks (classical ML, deep learning, LLM patterns).
• Experience working with complex enterprise data (ERP, PLM, MES) and deploying models in production environments.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or engineer-to-order environments is preferred.
