Assistant Manager – Production | Production | Reports to: Fabrication Head | Kanpur | Window Fabrication (uPVC/Aluminium)
Role Summary: Support the Production Manager, planning and improving fabrication operations to meet schedule, quality, safety and wastage targets.
Responsibilities: Prepare daily production plans; allocate cutting, welding, cleaning, hardware fitting, glazing and packing; track progress and dispatch. Coordinate with Design/Estimation for shop drawings, cutting lists and BOMs. Ensure dimensions, tolerances, weld quality and finish; oversee inspection and address rejection/rework through corrective actions. Coordinate Stores/Purchase for profiles, reinforcement, hardware and glass; optimise cutting and material consumption. Ensure operation and maintenance of cutting saws, welding machines, corner cleaners, routers, drilling/milling machines; coordinate preventive maintenance, tool/blade/die changeovers. Supervise supervisors, fabricators, fitters and helpers; assign targets; monitor attendance and productivity; support training. Enforce PPE, machine safeguarding, 5S, housekeeping and audit compliance. Prepare production reports and MIS; track output, rework and wastage; improve workflow. Coordinate with Sales, Projects, Site Installation, Logistics and Stores and resolve issues.
Qualifications: Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production Engineering; 6–10 years’ experience, preferably 4+ supervisory years in uPVC/aluminium window/door or fabrication industry. Skills: drawings, machinery, planning, lean/5S, MS Excel/ERP, leadership, communication and problem-solving. KPIs: on-time dispatch, quality, rework, wastage, machine uptime, productivity and zero safety incidents.
