Role Description
As a Lead Software Engineer at CoreFi, you will design, build, and maintain core back-end services that power our cloud-native banking platform. You will lead the technical direction of projects, make architectural decisions across microservices and APIs, and ensure scalability, reliability, and security of financial workflows. Day-to-day, you will write production-quality code, review code from other engineers, mentor team members, and collaborate closely with product, compliance, and operations teams to deliver new features across onboarding, lending, payments, and reporting. You will contribute to improving development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and observability, and help evaluate and adopt tools that strengthen the platform’s AI-enabled capabilities. This is a full-time remote role, with collaboration across distributed teams in European and international time zones.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade systems and services.
Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native environments.
Advanced skills in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns applied to large-scale distributed systems.
Experience leading engineering teams or technical projects, including mentoring and code review responsibilities.
Knowledge of financial services, fintech, or core banking platforms is highly beneficial.
Familiarity with AI-enabled automation, event-driven architectures, and secure handling of financial data is a plus.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team environment and communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
