About The Role
The Boeing Company is seeking an experienced or senior Application Software Engineer to join our Phantom Works Weapons team located in St. Charles, Missouri, within the St. Louis area. This role supports cutting-edge future weapons programs, including the Next Generation Cruise Missile initiative. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background and relevant experience in software development. Basic qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, data science, physics, mathematics, or related fields, along with a minimum of three years of experience in software engineering. Candidates must have an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret and Special Program Access. Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and C# is essential, along with experience in Linux development, version control systems like Git, and familiarity with network architectures involving TCP/UDP communication.
Preferred qualifications include five or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work history. Senior-level candidates should demonstrate extensive experience in software architecture, design methodologies, and domain-specific knowledge related to defense systems. Knowledge of host environments, operating systems, and troubleshooting software components is highly desirable. Additional skills such as understanding of software development processes, testing tools, and compliance with industry standards will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry, safety, and regulatory standards.
Translate customer requirements into initial software designs, developing interface definitions and ensuring alignment with project goals.
Perform unit and integration testing to validate software functionality and performance.
Participate in peer reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.
Support system integration and testing activities to verify software performance within the broader system context.
Create comprehensive software documentation to facilitate maintenance, updates, and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to resolve complex technical challenges efficiently.
