Role Description The Senior Director Human Resources is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the HR function and shaping people strategies that support Roarke Regenerative’s mission and growth. This role oversees the design and implementation of HR policies and programs, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits, and employee development. The Senior Director will guide employee relations, ensure compliance with labor and employment laws, and foster an inclusive, values-driven culture across a geographically dispersed workforce. Daily responsibilities include partnering with executive leadership on workforce planning, advising managers on HR best practices, managing HR systems and metrics, and leading initiatives that enhance engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness. The role also involves developing scalable HR processes for a remote nonprofit environment and supporting change management as the organization expands its global impact.
Qualifications
Strong Human Resources (HR) leadership experience, including strategic planning and oversight of core HR functions.
Demonstrated expertise in HR Policies and the design of compliant, scalable HR frameworks.
Proven ability to manage Employee Relations, including conflict resolution and promoting an inclusive, collaborative culture.
Experience implementing and improving Performance Management processes aligned with organizational goals.
Comprehensive knowledge of Labor and Employment Law relevant to nonprofit and remote work environments.
Experience in senior HR roles (e.g., Director or above), preferably within mission-driven or nonprofit organizations.
Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Comfort operating in a fully remote setting, with excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is preferred.
Interest in environmental sustainability, conservation, or climate-focused initiatives is a plus.
Base salary: $240,000–$290,000, commensurate with experience, plus a competitive annual performance bonus
