About The Role
Boeing is seeking an Application Software Engineer, either at the Associate or Experienced level, to join our Phantom Works Weapons team in St. Charles, MO, near the St. Louis area. This role supports cutting-edge future weapons programs, including the Next Generation Cruise Missile initiative. As part of this team, you will contribute to high-impact projects that require interdisciplinary collaboration, systems thinking, and innovative problem-solving to develop next-generation capabilities. The position necessitates the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work involved.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, data science, physics, mathematics, or related fields. For the Associate level, candidates should have 2+ years of relevant experience, whereas the Experienced level requires 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance is essential, along with U.S. citizenship. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and C#, along with experience in Linux development, version control systems like Git, and familiarity with network architectures, especially TCP/UDP communication protocols. Knowledge of software architecture, design methodologies, and development processes aligned with industry standards is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring compliance with safety, security, and industry standards.
Translate customer requirements into software design specifications and develop interface definitions to facilitate system integration.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and participate in peer reviews to ensure software quality and robustness.
Support software system integration and testing activities, troubleshooting issues to ensure seamless operation.
Create comprehensive software documentation to support ongoing maintenance and future development efforts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions addressing complex technical challenges.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate best practices into software development processes.
