This is a remote, contract role for a Mobile Puzzle Game UI/UX Designer. In this role, you will design intuitive and visually engaging user interfaces for mobile puzzle games, focusing on clear navigation, game flows, and interactive elements that enhance player engagement and retention. You will create wireframes, user journeys, and high-fidelity mockups, collaborating closely with game designers, artists, and developers to ensure cohesive visual language and smooth in-game experiences. Daily responsibilities include iterating on UI layouts based on playtest feedback, refining onboarding and tutorial flows, and ensuring designs perform well across different devices and screen sizes. You will also participate in reviews, document design decisions, and maintain a consistent style guide that supports accessible and enjoyable gameplay.
Qualifications
Strong UI/UX design skills for mobile games, including experience with puzzle or casual titles, wireframing, prototyping, and user flow design.
Proficiency in modern design tools and the ability to create production-ready assets and mockups.
Understanding of game design principles, player psychology, and usability best practices, especially for mobile touch interfaces.
Experience conducting or incorporating user feedback, playtesting results, and analytics into iterative design improvements.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment, communicate design rationale clearly, and respond constructively to feedback.
A portfolio showcasing mobile UI/UX work, ideally including puzzle or casual games, with clear examples of your design process.
Familiarity with implementing designs in game engines or working closely with developers on integration is a plus.
Comfort working on a contract basis, managing timelines, and delivering high-quality work independently.
