Solutions Architect

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to drive the technical architecture and design of enterprise-scale, event-driven applications.
The role will focus on ensuring the technical integrity of an Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) platform, supporting the design, implementation, and operation of microservices while working closely with senior technology leadership, business stakeholders, engineering, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse, design, and lead technical solutions aligned with business requirements.
* Define platform strategy, target-state architecture, and implementation roadmaps for enterprise-scale applications.
* Lead architecture and design initiatives for migration from legacy messaging solutions to Confluent Kafka on AWS.
* Design scalable, highly available, secure, extensible, and maintainable solutions.
* Develop and participate in Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for new applications and services.
* Evaluate and recommend third-party technologies and services.
* Establish enterprise architecture blueprints and cloud deployment topologies.
* Provide technical guidance and promote sound engineering and architecture principles.
* Support production escalations, system operations, and problem resolution when required.
* Mentor engineering and architecture teams on Kafka and emerging technologies.
* Drive improvements in architecture, design, development processes, policies, and standards.
* Collaborate with business and cross-functional teams to drive technology strategy and initiatives.
Must-Have Skills
* 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in hands-on architecture roles.
* Strong experience in Microservices Architecture and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
* Strong understanding of Event-Driven / Message-Driven Architecture.
* Hands-on experience with Kafka / Confluent Kafka or similar technologies such as Kinesis.
* Strong AWS experience, including services such as:
LambdaECS / EKS / EC2S3DynamoDB / RDSVPCRoute 53ELB
* Strong experience with Enterprise Java and Spring Boot.
* Experience designing high-traffic distributed systems with high availability, resilience, and fault tolerance.
* Experience with Oracle, NoSQL databases, and distributed caching.
* Experience with system integrations using API Gateways, JSON, Avro, and XML.
* Strong architecture documentation, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
* AWS Architecture certification or equivalent hands-on AWS expertise.
Must-Have Technical Skills:
Kafka/Confluent, AWS, Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), Domain-Driven Design (DDD), API Integration, Distributed Systems, Oracle/NoSQL.
Good to Have
* Experience in financial services, payment processing, or e-commerce.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
