Junior Site Reliability Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive Site Reliability Engineer (L2) to join our Banking Technology team and help maintain the availability, performance, and resilience of high-throughput banking systems.
The role involves production monitoring, incident management, automation, deployment support, and observability, working closely with development and infrastructure teams to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor critical Service Level Indicators (SLIs) including transaction latency, success rates, and API error rates.
Maintain Grafana dashboards and configure Prometheus alerts.
Participate in on-call rotations and investigate production incidents affecting banking services.
Execute runbooks to restore services quickly and minimize MTTR.
Automate repetitive operational tasks such as health checks, certificate renewals, and server restarts.
Develop automation using Python, Bash, or Go.
Assist with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or Jenkins.
Support safe deployment strategies including blue/green and canary deployments.
Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) drills and failover testing for critical database and payment systems.
Required Skills
2 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or related infrastructure/software engineering roles.
Experience managing Linux/Unix environments.
Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with Docker and basic Kubernetes operations.
Proficiency in at least one of Python, Bash, or Go.
Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk.
Understanding of monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting, and production support.
MCA or B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
Good to Have

Banking or financial technology experience.
Understanding of financial transaction flows.
Exposure to ISO 20022, REST APIs, or PCI-DSS compliance.
