About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to help build and scale the data infrastructure that powers Damoov’s platform, analytics, and mobility intelligence products.
This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, platform engineering, analytics, and product innovation. You will design and operate the systems that ingest, process, store, and serve massive volumes of telematics and mobility data used by customers around the world.
You’ll work closely with Data Science, Product, Engineering, Customer Solutions, and Leadership teams to ensure Damoov’s data platform remains scalable, reliable, and capable of supporting the next generation of mobility intelligence products.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, working with large-scale data systems, and building infrastructure that directly powers customer-facing products.
What You’ll Do
Design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure that supports Damoov’s platform and data products
Develop reliable pipelines for ingesting, processing, transforming, and serving large-scale telematics and mobility datasets
Build systems that support analytics, reporting, machine learning, and customer-facing intelligence products
Improve platform performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency
Develop monitoring, observability, and data quality frameworks that ensure trusted data across the organization
Optimize storage architectures, processing workflows, and data access patterns
Collaborate with Data Science teams to support model development and production machine learning workflows
Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to enable new platform capabilities and customer solutions
Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term data platform strategy
Help establish engineering best practices across data infrastructure, reliability, and operational excellence
What We’re Looking For
Experience in data engineering, platform engineering, backend engineering, or a related field
Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or Go
Experience building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and distributed systems
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and modern data architectures
Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and event-based datasets
Familiarity with data modeling, storage systems, and data lifecycle management
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, data, and product teams
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
Nice to Have
Experience working with telematics, mobility, transportation, logistics, geospatial, IoT, or location intelligence data
Experience with streaming architectures and real-time data processing
Familiarity with machine learning infrastructure and MLOps workflows
Experience with cloud-native data platforms and modern analytics ecosystems
Understanding of large-scale event processing and behavioral analytics
Experience working in a startup or scaling technology company
