2. About the Opportunity:
The Product Engineer role is centered on owning and driving solutions from conception to deployment, using AI-powered tools to build and verify impactful products. This position requires direct engagement with users and stakeholders to translate needs into functional and technical requirements, managing projects involving collaboration with other engineers and AI agents. The role is critical in delivering reliable, scalable, and secure products that move organizational metrics and improve business outcomes.
3. Responsibilities:
Take full accountability for problem-solving and outcomes.
Engage directly with users, stakeholders, and peers to identify and clarify problems.
Translate business goals into clear, actionable requirements for engineers and AI agents.
Define and enforce non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
Write production-quality code across the technology stack including Python, Django, AWS, React, and PostgreSQL.
Direct AI agents and evaluate their outputs for quality and correctness.
Monitor and improve AI agent performance through prompt refinement and failure mode analysis.
Coordinate projects involving multiple engineers and AI agents, managing dependencies and progress.
Participate in architectural decisions balancing elegance with startup agility.
Manage the context harness during development and delivery.
Identify and communicate delivery risks early, providing solutions and updates.
Verify end-to-end functionality and correctness of delivered systems.
Support adoption through documentation, enablement, and usage monitoring.
Monitor production services, debug issues, and participate in support rotations.
Iterate on solutions until meaningful impact is achieved.
Maintain engineering standards and manage technical debt responsibly.
4. Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience building production web applications across the full stack.
Proven track record of end-to-end ownership from idea through deployment including supporting systems.
Proficiency with AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or OpenAI Codex and commitment to staying current.
Experience gathering requirements through direct user and stakeholder engagement.
Ability to own and define both functional and non-functional system requirements.
Demonstrated autonomy and accountability in managing domains or initiatives.
Strong initiative and proactive problem solving.
Curiosity about the business domain supporting the technical work.
Clear communication skills across engineering, product, and business teams.
Low ego, high emotional intelligence, and ability to influence without authority.
Experience working with distributed, remote teams.
