Role Description The Journalism Intern will support the editorial team by researching and writing news articles, features, and updates on education-related topics such as admissions, scholarships, policy changes, and campus activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring education news sources, drafting and revising content, assisting with press releases, and ensuring accuracy and clarity in all published materials. The intern will collaborate with senior writers and editors to maintain the platform’s standards, contribute story ideas, and help with digital publishing workflows and basic content management tasks. This is an internship role and is fully remote, offering flexible working hours and exposure to real-time newsroom operations in the education sector.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Writing and News Writing skills for clear, accurate, and engaging journalistic content.
Candidates should possess solid Research skills to verify information, gather data, and develop well-informed stories.
Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for collaboration with editors, sources, and institutional partners.
Candidates should possess the ability to assist with Press Releases, including drafting and refining institutional announcements.
Basic understanding of journalism ethics, fact-checking, and news reporting practices.
Enrollment in or recent completion of a program in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field is preferred.
Comfort with digital tools for online publishing, social media, and remote collaboration.
Attention to detail, strong time management, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
