Fashion & Safety Garment Designer

We are looking for a Freelance Fashion & Garment Designer to work with us on a project basis for developing fashion, functional, and safety garments.
Key Responsibilities
Develop garment concepts, sketches, and technical flats.
Create tech packs with measurements, fabrics, trims, and construction details.
Develop functional garments such as safety wear, combat/tactical garments, life-saving jackets, workwear, and protective apparel.
Select suitable fabrics, materials, hardware, and functional components.
Coordinate with pattern makers and sampling/manufacturing teams.
Review samples and make design/fit corrections.
Ensure designs are functional, comfortable, durable, and production-friendly.
Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Fashion/Apparel Design or related field.
Experience in garment design and construction.
Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, patterns, and garment manufacturing.
Knowledge/experience in safety garments, protective wear, combat/tactical wear, or life jackets is preferred.
Good knowledge of Adobe Illustrator/CorelDRAW; CLO 3D is an added advantage.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who combines fashion design sensibility with strong technical and functional garment knowledge. They should be comfortable working beyond conventional fashion apparel and developing garments where safety, functionality, performance, comfort, and durability are important design considerations.
Candidates with experience in PPE, industrial safety wear, defence/tactical apparel, marine/survival equipment, technical textiles, workwear, or performance apparel are particularly encouraged to apply.
Assignment
Shortlisted candidates will be given a design assignment to assess their understanding of functional/safety garment design, creativity, technical skills, and practical approach.
