About the Organization : The Akshaya Patra Foundation is one of the world’s largest not-for-profit organizations implementing the Government of India’s Mid-Day Meal Programme. With operations spanning across 16+ states and over 78 kitchens, the Foundation serves over 2.35 million mid-day meals and 1 million morning snacks every day to school children. With an ambitious goal of serving 6 million meals per day by 2030, Akshaya Patra is committed to eliminating classroom hunger and promoting education through a scalable, sustainable, and efficient food delivery model.

About the Role: We are looking for an experienced HNI Fundraiser to lead the identification, engagement, cultivation, and stewardship of High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs), philanthropists, family offices, and other major individual donors. The role will be responsible for building strong, long term relationships with HNI donors, understanding their philanthropic interests, developing compelling funding proposals, and mobilizing significant resources to support the organization’s Programme and mission.
Key Responsibilities :
HNI Identification & Acquisition
Build a strong pipeline of HNI/UHNI donors, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, and family offices.
Research donor interests and develop strategies to acquire and convert new major donors.
Generate leads through networks, events, referrals, and introductions.
Donor Relationship Management
Build and nurture long-term relationships with HNI donors.
Align donor interests with organizational programmes and impact areas.
Conduct donor meetings, presentations, programme visits, and engagement activities.
Drive personalized stewardship, communication, and recognition.
Fundraising & Resource Mobilization
Develop and execute HNI fundraising strategies and targets.
Create customized proposals, presentations, and impact cases.
Manage the fundraising cycle from prospecting to closure and stewardship.
Achieve fundraising and donor-retention targets.
Impact & Internal Coordination
Partner with programme and leadership teams to communicate impact effectively.
Maintain donor records, track pipeline and performance, and ensure timely reporting.
Ensure compliance with NGO, FCRA, tax, and internal fundraising policies.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; Master’s in Social Work, Development Studies, Management, Marketing, Communications, or related fields preferred.
5+ years of experience in fundraising, HNI/major-donor engagement, philanthropy, CSR, development sector, or relationship management.
Proven HNI/major-donor fundraising experience strongly preferred.
Experience with senior business leaders, entrepreneurs, family offices, or foundations is an advantage.
