About The Role
We are seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mobile applications and SDKs for Android and iOS platforms that support critical functionalities such as authentication, digital identity, payment security, and customer-facing experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, architects, designers, QA engineers, and operations to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable mobile solutions. The role emphasizes hands-on coding, with approximately 60-75% of your time dedicated to developing high-quality software using modern tools, cloud services, and AI-assisted development frameworks to enhance productivity and software quality. You will play a vital part in creating secure and innovative mobile experiences that support Visa’s mission of making digital payments seamless and secure worldwide.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or have 3+ years of relevant work experience. Preferred qualifications include at least 2 years of experience in software engineering or mobile application development, with proficiency in creating and executing test plans, debugging, and troubleshooting software issues. Candidates should have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, participating in code reviews, and working within Agile development environments. Technical expertise should include developing Android applications using Kotlin and/or Java, developing iOS applications with Swift, integrating REST APIs, and working with backend services. Experience developing reusable mobile libraries or SDKs, as well as familiarity with mobile CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, is highly desirable. Additionally, exposure to Payments, FinTech, Authentication, Digital Identity, Fraud Prevention, or Cybersecurity solutions, along with experience using AI-assisted development tools like Microsoft Copilot or GitHub Copilot, will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translating them into technical solutions. You will design, develop, test, and maintain native Android and iOS applications, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and high-performing. Your role involves integrating mobile applications with APIs and backend services, supporting SDK development, and managing application releases and deployments. You will participate in design discussions, code reviews, and technical troubleshooting to uphold quality standards. Monitoring applications, analyzing system behavior, and implementing improvements for reliability and performance will be key parts of your role. You will also contribute to automation initiatives, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering best practices. Providing on-call support and incident resolution when necessary will be part of your responsibilities. Continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies are essential to ensure our mobile solutions remain innovative and secure.
