About The Role
The HR Generalist supports the full employee lifecycle for a distributed technology organization, spanning onboarding, performance programs, employee relations, compliance, and people operations. The role partners closely with engineering, product, and business leaders in an environment where teams use tools such as Workday, Greenhouse, Slack, and Jira.
You will turn people policies into reliable processes, maintain accurate employee data, and help managers handle day-to-day people matters with consistency and sound judgment. The role is important to building a scalable employee experience as the organization grows across remote and hybrid teams.
Key Responsibilities
Manage onboarding and offboarding workflows across HRIS, payroll, benefits, IT provisioning, and employee records
Partner with managers on employee relations, performance documentation, accommodations, and policy interpretation
Maintain accurate people data in Workday or a comparable HRIS; produce recurring headcount, turnover, and workforce reports
Coordinate annual performance reviews, compensation cycles, engagement surveys, and people-program communications
Administer benefits, leave programs, and payroll coordination in partnership with external vendors and internal finance teams
Document, update, and improve HR policies and operating procedures to support compliance across remote employees
Use tools such as Slack, Jira, Google Workspace, and HR platforms to track requests, manage workflows, and improve response times
What We Are Looking For
3-6 years of progressive HR generalist or people-operations experience, preferably in a technology or high-growth environment
Working knowledge of employee relations, performance management, onboarding, benefits administration, leave programs, and employment compliance
Hands-on experience with an HRIS such as Workday, Rippling, BambooHR, or UKG, plus strong proficiency with Google Workspace and spreadsheets
Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage confidential information and multiple priorities independently
Clear, thoughtful communication skills and sound judgment when advising employees and managers on sensitive issues
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Bonus: PHR or SHRM-CP certification; experience supporting distributed teams, multi-state employment, equity programs, or HR analytics and reporting
