1. About Our Client:
This organization operates within the employee relocation and real estate services industry, focusing on assisting federal employees during job transfers. It addresses the challenges faced by transferred employees in selling existing homes and securing housing in new locations, offering services aligned with federal contracts to streamline relocation processes.
2. About the Opportunity:
The Relocation Counselor - Government is responsible for managing home sale and purchase processes for transferred federal employees. This role ensures compliance with contract guidelines, supports employees through their relocation, and facilitates housing solutions to ease their transition.
3. Responsibilities:
Manage caseload of transferred employees'' properties, ensuring contract compliance.
Initiate contact with transferred employees to provide guidance on home sale processes.
Conduct needs assessments to understand transferee requirements throughout the move.
Maintain regular contact with clients and transferees, offering ongoing advice and support.
Monitor retained agents'' activities during listing periods to ensure adherence to guidelines.
Act as liaison between transferred employees and agents, resolving disputes as needed.
Review property appraisals and order additional ones when necessary.
Evaluate home inspections and oversee required repairs for purchase and marketability.
Review home title summaries and resolve any issues that could affect sale or transfer.
Negotiate home purchase prices and assist in negotiating offers to buyers.
Manage property transfers to inventory for follow-up and resale.
Coordinate activities of Relocation Coordinators and assist in staff development.
Recommend agents and service providers for home purchasing and temporary housing.
Maintain accurate files and documentation.
Suggest process improvements and customer service enhancements.
Perform other assigned duties.
4. Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor''s degree preferred.
Minimum of three years experience in relocation or real estate.
Customer service experience, particularly with high-volume telephone contact, preferred.
Knowledge of employee relocation, mortgage lending, or banking.
Understanding of real estate contracts.
Bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred.
Strong customer service, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The estimated base salary range is $55,000 to $75,000 annually.
Actual pay depends on skills, education, experience, location, and certifications.
