About The Role
We are seeking a talented Data Architect to join our dynamic team at Bausparkasse Mainz AG. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our data platform, which underpins our reporting, business intelligence, and data science initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of data architecture, modeling, and pipeline development. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable data solutions, ensure high data quality, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background combined with excellent communication skills to translate complex data requirements into effective technical solutions.
Qualifications
Proven experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data pipeline development within a corporate environment.
Deep understanding of data modeling techniques including relational, dimensional, and Data Vault models.
Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and automation tools.
Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and metadata management.
Familiarity with modern data platforms such as Data Lake, Lakehouse architectures, and related technologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
Responsibilities
Develop the target architecture of our data platform, transitioning from traditional Data Warehouse solutions to integrated platforms supporting reporting, BI, and Data Science (e.g., Data Lake/Lakehouse).
Design and implement robust, scalable, and automated ETL/ELT pipelines to connect various source systems efficiently.
Model and maintain critical data models, ensuring they are aligned with business needs and technical standards.
Collaborate with business units to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Ensure data quality, transparency, and governance through metadata management, data lineage tracking, and compliance with data privacy regulations.
Take ownership of the operation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the data platform to ensure high availability and performance.
Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in data architecture and technology, recommending improvements and innovations.
