Role Description The Senior Software Engineer role is a part-time, remote position focused on designing, developing, and maintaining robust software solutions that support Akums’ operational and digital initiatives. This role involves building scalable back-end services, integrating systems, and optimizing performance for applications used across manufacturing and business functions. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical designs, and ensure high standards of code quality, security, and reliability. Responsibilities include reviewing code, mentoring less experienced engineers, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to architectural decisions that align with industry best practices.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience delivering production-grade applications.
Hands-on expertise in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and their application in modern software design.
Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
Prior experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences is an advantage.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
