Role Description The Website Developer - Maintenance role is a part-time, remote position focused on ensuring the continuous stability, performance, and security of Akums’ web properties. Responsibilities include updating and maintaining website codebases, fixing bugs, performing regular performance and security checks, and ensuring compatibility across browsers and devices. The role involves implementing design updates, optimizing user experience, managing backups, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to support content updates and new features. The developer will monitor site uptime, troubleshoot technical issues promptly, and contribute to improvements that support marketing, branding, and information accessibility.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Web Development and Programming skills for maintaining and enhancing dynamic, database-driven websites.
Candidates should possess Front-End Development and Web Design skills to ensure responsive layouts, accessible interfaces, and consistent branding.
Candidates should possess Back-End Web Development skills to manage server-side logic, integrations, and website performance.
Experience with common web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP or similar, databases) and content management systems is beneficial.
Understanding of website security, performance optimization, and SEO fundamentals is preferred.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage part-time schedules effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
A relevant degree or certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Web Development, or equivalent practical experience, is advantageous.
