Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for a WordPress Website Developer. The person in this role will design, develop, and maintain WordPress-based websites that effectively represent Akums’ brand and support its digital communication needs. Daily responsibilities include building and customizing WordPress themes and plugins, implementing responsive front-end layouts, optimizing site performance, and ensuring cross-browser compatibility. The developer will collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional web solutions, integrate content and multimedia, and uphold security and SEO best practices. The role also involves troubleshooting technical issues, performing regular updates, and improving user experience based on analytics and feedback.
Qualifications
Strong Front-End Development skills, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive Web Design.
Experience in Back-End Web Development for WordPress, including PHP, MySQL, and theme/plugin customization.
Proficiency in general Web Development and Programming concepts, including debugging, performance optimization, and version control (e.g., Git).
Hands-on experience with WordPress CMS, including installation, configuration, security hardening, and plugin management.
Understanding of SEO fundamentals, accessibility standards, and cross-browser compatibility.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time workloads, and meet deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with clear written and verbal communication.
Relevant education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or regulated industries is an advantage.
