Role Description This part-time remote role is for a WordPress Website Senior Developer responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of Akums’ WordPress-based web properties. Day-to-day tasks include building and maintaining custom WordPress themes and plugins, implementing responsive front-end interfaces, and ensuring robust, secure back-end functionality. The role involves collaborating with marketing and content teams to translate business requirements into scalable web solutions, optimizing site performance and SEO, and managing integrations with third-party tools and APIs. The Senior Developer will also troubleshoot technical issues, perform regular updates and maintenance, and recommend improvements aligned with user experience and brand guidelines.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong WordPress-focused Web Development skills, including experience in managing complex, scalable websites.
Candidates should possess Front-End Development skills such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive Web Design to create accessible, user-friendly interfaces.
Candidates should possess Back-End Web Development and Programming skills, including PHP, database management (e.g., MySQL), and API integration.
Candidates should possess experience in modern Web Design practices, UX/UI principles, and cross-browser compatibility.
Experience with performance optimization, security best practices, and SEO-friendly implementation in WordPress environments is beneficial.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative remote workflows is preferred.
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills are essential.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is advantageous.
