About The Role
We are seeking a talented Application Software Engineer (Experience or Senior level) to join our Phantom Works Open Architecture Systems Integrated Software (OASIS) team located in Berkeley, MO. This role involves supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization in developing innovative software solutions for complex defense systems. The successful candidate will work on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining embedded software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking aerospace projects that push technological boundaries and enhance national security.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data science, physics, or related fields, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Candidates should have active U.S. Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret and Special Program Access. Proficiency in C++, C#, and Linux development is essential, along with experience using version control systems such as Git. A strong understanding of software architecture development, open architectures, network communication protocols (TCP/UDP), and embedded systems is required. Preferred qualifications include more extensive experience (5+ years), knowledge of host environments, software design methodologies, and compliance with industry standards for software development, testing, and deployment.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software throughout the entire lifecycle, ensuring adherence to safety, industry, and regulatory standards.
Translate customer requirements into initial software designs, creating interface definitions and technical specifications.
Perform unit and integration testing to validate software functionality and performance.
Participate in peer reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
Support software system integration and testing activities to ensure seamless operation within larger systems.
Create comprehensive software documentation to facilitate maintenance, updates, and compliance audits.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and implement process improvements.
