About The Role
At Boeing, we are seeking an Application Software Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join our Phantom Works Weapons team located in St. Charles, MO, within the St. Louis area. This role supports cutting-edge weapons programs, including the Next Generation Cruise Missile initiative. As part of this team, you will contribute to high-impact projects that involve interdisciplinary collaboration, systems thinking, and innovative problem-solving. The position offers an exciting opportunity to develop software solutions for complex challenges in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering reliable, secure, and safe systems for operational use. The role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work involved.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in engineering, computer science, or related fields, complemented by relevant experience. Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree and the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance, which necessitates U.S. citizenship. Candidates should have at least one year of experience in programming languages such as C++, Python, and C#, along with Linux development, version control systems like Git, and familiarity with network architectures, especially TCP/UDP-based communication. Preferred qualifications include more extensive experience (3+ years), active U.S. Secret Security Clearance, and knowledge of software architecture, design methodologies, and development tools. Candidates with experience in software validation, verification processes, and domain-specific knowledge related to aerospace or defense systems will be highly valued.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry, safety, and regulatory standards.
Translate customer requirements into initial software design and interface definitions, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Conduct unit and integration testing to validate software functionality and performance.
Participate in peer reviews to maintain high-quality code and foster collaborative development.
Support software system integration and testing activities, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Create comprehensive software documentation to facilitate maintenance and future development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions efficiently.
