Role Description The Content Developer will be responsible for planning, writing, and refining digital and learning-focused content that supports Roarke’s mission and programs. Day-to-day tasks include creating educational materials, web copy, and documentation; translating complex environmental and scientific concepts into accessible, engaging narratives; and collaborating with program, fundraising, and communications teams to ensure content accuracy and consistency. The role will involve developing content for online courses, presentations, reports, and outreach campaigns, as well as maintaining content libraries and style guidelines. This is a full-time remote role, requiring the ability to work effectively across time zones and communicate clearly with a distributed team.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Writing, Technical Writing, and Content Development skills.
Candidates should possess Instructional Design skills for creating structured, learner-focused materials.
Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills, both written and verbal.
Candidates should ideally have experience with digital content tools, learning management systems, or documentation platforms.
Relevant experience in environmental science, sustainability, nonprofit work, or a related field is beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Education, Environmental Studies, English, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
Base salary: $150,000–$165,000, commensurate with experience, plus a competitive annual performance bonus
